FACILITIES AT THE OLD POST OFFICE

HOLIDAY COTTAGE

Feel at home at The Old Post Office

Although originally built as a cider press in the 17th century, our ancient stone cottage has been refurbished to the highest standard.

The views over the river are stunning and one can really appreciate the beauty of the area. Watch the hand-ferry come and go and breathe in the fresh, clean air of the Herefordshire countryside.

The Old Post Office Kitchen

With a kitchen that is well-equipped and well-laid out, our cottage will provide all of the utensils and cutlery that you might need for rustling up a home-cooked meal. Wonderful clay tiles adorn the floor, giving a nod to the cottage’s ancient past. Next to the kitchen we have a spacious utility room which is ideal for damp coats, muddy boots and wet dogs.

The bathroom is also located upstairs. It has been beautifully finished to an excellent standard and is equipped with a bath, shower over, toilet, hand basin and two heated towel rails. There will be fresh towels provided at the beginning of your stay, along with cleaning products.

The sitting room is cosy and with its two comfortable sofa’s and efficient, modern wood burner, it is the ideal place for kicking back and watching a film or two when it’s raining outside. We have also nestled a dining table into the bay window. The joy of eating a meal, overlooking the splendid views of the valley and the river is a moment to be savoured.

We have an outside terrace that is equipped with a BBQ and chairs and tables. Here, plants adorn every space, engulfing the area with a wonderful fragrance and plenty of colour during the summertime. The views over the river are stunning and one can really appreciate the beauty of the area. Watch the hand-ferry come and go and breathe in the fresh, clean air of the Herefordshire countryside.

Upstairs we have two good-sized bedrooms. A twin room and the master bedroom. The master bedroom features an extremely comfortable double bed, woollen blankets and a dressing table. The showpiece in this room is the balcony. There is no better feeling than enjoying a morning coffee overlooking the valley.

Enjoy a picnic in our own riverside, garden meadow, which stretches down to the riverside. It is less than a minutes’ walk from the cottage. Here the butterflies dance and the birds chatter – An utterly amazing place for children to learn about wildlife. For those who like to enjoy fishing or a canoe ride, the cottage has its own fishing rights (licence required) and launch pad for a canoe..
